TO SAVE A STORY FROM THE WEB TO A FLOPPY DISK

Start Netscape Navigator and go to http://newsource.cnn.com.
Scroll down and click on scripts. 
Type the proper user name and password when prompted.
Click on the story you want to save to disk.
Select "Save As" from the file menu.
Click in the box under "Save File as Type:" and select "Plain Text"
Select the "a drive" and name the story slug.txt.
Click "OK" to save the story to your floppy disk.


TO IMPORT A STORY INTO PET FROM A FLOPPY DISK.

C:\>        pet RET                 Type pet RET at the c prompt

            ->                      Use the white arrow keys to enter the 
                                    PET queue into which you want to import.

CMD         im a:/stname.txt stname Type im a:/stname.txt stname RET
                                    to import a story and name it stname.



TO TRANSFER A STORY TO YOUR BASYS DIRECTORY

First, set the switch box to A: Modem/Pet, then turn on PC. 
Press F1 when prompted.

PROMPT     RESPONSE           EXPLANATION

C:\>       pet RET            Type pet RET at the c prompt

CMD        co bas RET         Press the CMD key, then type co bas RET
                              Wait for the modem to dial.

CMD login  lastname RET       Press CMD, then type your last name RET

CMD passwd firstname RET      then type your first name RET

CMD  CMD                      Press the CMD key twice.

           CTRL ]             Hold the CTRL key and press the ']' key

cmd        local RET          Type local at the cmd prompt

            ->                Use the white right arrow keys to put the
                              cursor on the story you want to tranfer

CMD        tr people.joe RET  Type CMD tr people.joe RET to tranfer 
                              the story to the specified queue.

CMD        logo   RET         After the story is transferred, type CMD logo

CMD        logo RET           Press CMD and type logo RET to quit pet
