What to do when things go wrong in Edit 2


Click on a symptom for a cause and a solution.

If the Video Toaster doesn't start properly, reboot the Amiga by pressing Ctrl, Left Amiga and Right Amiga buttons simultaneoulsy. If the color for P2, the SVHS VCR, or P3, the 3/4 inch VCR is extremely out of phase, you may have to adjust the subcarrier of a TBC, by following steps below: 1: Playback a tape with color bars in the VCR that needs ajustment and select input 2 on the Toaster program bus. 2: Press Ctrl Ctrl Alt Alt to go to the the workbench screen. Double-click on DH0:, then Toaster, then TBC IV. 3: Click on TBC 2 or TBC 3 as necessary. 4: Click on the Prefs button in the lower right hand part of the screen. 5: Click on the Composite/S-Video button until the correct image appears on the monitor. 6: Adjust the color by clicking and dragging the slider next to the SUB icon until the color monitor and the V-scope look correct. 7: Close the window by clicking in the upper left corner. Then click on the Switcher icon to return to the Toaster control screen. If the color for any of the VCR's is a little out of phase, you may have to adjust the hue of a TBC, by following steps below: 1: Playback a tape with color bars in the VCR that needs ajustment and select the appropriate input on the Toaster program bus. 2: Press Ctrl Ctrl Alt Alt to go to the the workbench screen. Double-click on DH0:, then Toaster, then TBC IV, to go to the TBC control screen. 3: Click on TBC 1 or TBC 2 as necessary 4: Adjust the color by clicking and dragging the slider next to the HUE icon until the color monitor looks correct. 5: Click on the Switcher icon to return to the Toaster control screen. If the video goes to Black or the wrong picture during recording, it could be one of several causes: 1: The input select switch on the Record VCR is in the Dub postion. Solution: Select Line. 2: The correct input of the Video Toaster is not selected. Solution: Select input 1 or 2 as necessary. 3: The wrong buttons are selected on the TBC. Solution: Press Ctrl, Ctrl, Alt, Alt. Then doubleclick on DH0:, then Toaster, then TBCIV. Click on Prefs and then click on the Composite/S-Video button until the correct image appears on the monitor. Close window by clicking in the upper left hand corner, then click on the Switcher button. If the video doesn't change on the record monitor during recording, it could be one of several causes: 1: No record button in videotape. Solution: Insert record button. 2: Mode switch on the record vcr is not in "edit". Solution: Select edit 3: Insert/Assemble Indicators are not lit on the record vcr. Solution: Press insert/Assemble buttons until the indicators on the record vcr light Back to Help Page Index
